Enhancing Professional Development in the NDIS Community: Insights from Recent Events

At Rosie Disability Service, we are dedicated to empowering providers and improving outcomes for NDIS participants. On July 4th and 5th, we had the pleasure of being table hosts at two remarkable events: one at HBF Arena in Joondalup for Northern Suburb Providers, and the other at The Cruising Yacht Club of WA in Rockingham for Southern Suburb Providers. These events provided fantastic opportunities for networking and insightful discussions.

During these events, we asked fellow providers if they had participated in any NDIS-specific Continual Professional Development (CPD) over the past financial year. The responses were quite revealing: only 4 attendees had engaged in CPD. To gain a deeper understanding, we collected feedback from those who hadn't participated in any training. Here are their reasons, along with our thoughts on why these shouldn't be barriers and how Rosie Disability Services can help:

1. Too Busy

Many providers cited being too busy as a reason for not participating in CPD. We understand that everyone's schedule is packed, but investing time in professional development is crucial. 5. Not a Requirement of My Job
