Twice the Recognition: Rosie Disability Services Named a Finalist in Two Awards

We have some pretty exciting news to share - twice!
Rosie Disability Services has officially been named a finalist for Support Coordination Provider of the Year across TWO separate award organisations. Yep. Two!
To be recognised once is incredibly exciting. To find out that two separate organisations have selected Rosie as a finalist in the same category is something we are incredibly proud of. For a small Perth-based team that started with a very clear idea of what we believed Support Coordination should look like, this feels like a pretty special moment.
More Than an Award
Awards are lovely. We're certainly not going to pretend we aren't excited about them! But what makes these finalist nominations particularly meaningful to us is what they represent. Support Coordination isn't always work that people see. Behind every phone call, meeting or email, there can be hours of coordination, advocacy, research, problem-solving and collaboration happening in the background.
Our team works alongside participants and their families through plan changes, funding challenges, housing transitions, complex support needs, service gaps and an NDIS that can sometimes be incredibly difficult to navigate.
We advocate when something doesn't make sense.
We ask questions when something doesn't look right.
We bring providers together when communication has broken down.
We have difficult conversations when they need to happen.
And sometimes, we just keep following up until someone finally answers the email.
That's Support Coordination.
So, while having Rosie's name on two finalist lists is exciting, what we're most proud of is the work that got our team there.
The Rosie We Wanted to Build
When Rosie Disability Services was created, we didn't want to build the biggest Support Coordination provider.
We wanted to build a good one.
We wanted participants and families to know who their Support Coordinator was and feel comfortable picking up the phone.
We wanted our Support Coordinators to know their participants properly; their goals, their support networks, their challenges and what actually matters to them.
We wanted to build strong relationships with the allied health professionals, support providers, plan managers, advocates and other organisations around each participant.
And we wanted our team to understand the NDIS well enough to explain it, navigate it and advocate effectively within it. As RDS has grown, protecting those things has remained incredibly important to us.
This Recognition Belongs to Our Team
We might have “Rosie Disability Services” written on the finalist certificates, but the recognition belongs to the people behind the name.
Our Support Coordinators spend their days problem-solving, advocating, researching, coordinating and occasionally staring at an NDIS decision wondering, "How on earth did we get here?"
They care deeply about the people they support, and we're incredibly proud of the standard they hold themselves to. To Team Rosie: thank you.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for backing each other.
Thank you for asking questions and continuing to learn.
Thank you for representing Rosie the way you do.
And thank you for continuing to show up for our participants and families, particularly when things get complicated.
Being recognised twice for the same category says something pretty special about the team we've built.
And None of This Happens Without Our Participants
Most importantly, thank you to our participants and families. You trust us with some incredibly important parts of your lives. You let us into your homes, introduce us to your families, tell us when things aren't working, celebrate the wins with us and trust us to advocate alongside you when things get difficult. That trust isn't something we take lightly.
Thank you also to the providers, allied health professionals, plan managers, advocates, guardians, referrers and organisations who work collaboratively alongside our team.
Good Support Coordination doesn't happen in isolation. It happens when good people communicate, collaborate and keep the participant at the centre.

Of course we'd love to bring home an award. Or two. We're not greedy… but we're also not going to say no. 😂
But regardless of the outcome, being independently recognised by two different award organisations in the same category is already something we're incredibly proud of. RDS has grown enormously since we started, but the reason behind what we do hasn't changed.
Good Support Coordination should make things easier, not add another layer of complexity.
